Program Overview

 

Welcome to The Intuitive Vegan Workshop, a transformative after-school initiative in partnership with Julia Lynn Productions and The CynthiaB Foundation. Designed for youth aged 14 to 21, this program offers a unique blend of plant-based culinary education, wellness insights, and entrepreneurial training. Led by Chef Quis Vaughn, acclaimed author of A Pig and a Tiger Go Vegan, participants will embark on an enriching journey toward holistic health, creative expression, and real-world business experience.


Through hands-on learning, participants will not only master the art of creating nutritious vegan meals but also gain the confidence to share their creations with the community. By bridging nutrition education with entrepreneurship, The Intuitive Vegan Program empowers young people to cultivate life skills that will serve them well into adulthood.

Program Objectives

  • Introduce youth to the principles and benefits of plant-based nutrition and intuitive eating.
  • Equip participants with essential culinary skills to create delicious, health-conscious meals.
  • Foster a holistic understanding of mental and physical wellness through circadian rhythm education.
  • Provide practical entrepreneurial experience, empowering participants to market and sell their creations.
  • Cultivate confidence, creativity, and critical thinking in a supportive, hands-on learning environment.
  • Strengthen community ties through local engagement and collaborative projects.

What Participants Will Learn

  • Culinary Skills: Techniques for preparing plant-based meals, understanding ingredients, and creating balanced, flavorful dishes.
  • Nutritional Knowledge: Insights into plant-based nutrition and how it supports digestion, energy levels, and mental clarity.
  • Intuitive Eating: Developing a deeper connection to the body’s natural hunger cues and understanding how food impacts overall health.
  • Circadian Rhythms: Learning how daily routines and natural cycles affect well-being and how to align habits for optimal health.
  • Entrepreneurship: Practical business skills such as branding, sales, customer interaction, and financial literacy through product creation and distribution.
  • Teamwork & Leadership: Collaborating with peers on projects, practicing effective communication, and building leadership skills.

Program Features

  • Plant-Based Culinary Workshops: Hands-on sessions led by Chef Quis Vaughn, where participants learn to prepare vibrant, delicious, and nutritious vegan meals.
  • Entrepreneurship Training: Opportunities for youth to sell their handmade products to local vendors and community members, gaining practical business and marketing skills.
  • Holistic Living Education: Emphasis on intuitive eating, circadian rhythms, and practices for mental, physical, and emotional well-being.
  • Community Engagement: Participants collaborate with local organizations and vendors, fostering a sense of teamwork and connection.
  • Published Creations: Youth have a chance to showcase their products through local outlets, offering valuable exposure and confidence-building experiences.
  • Program Culmination: A showcase event where students create and present a signature plant-based meal to their peers, family, and community.

Chef Quis Vaughn

Chef Quis Vaughn is a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor, vegan culinary creative, and author passionate about inspiring youth to live healthier lives. Chef Quis combines culinary expertise with holistic wellness principles to make plant-based living accessible, fun, and transformative.
